YAY! NavPress offered me a new contract on Wednesday for the Maya series! We’re looking at a tentative release date of Fall 2009 for the first in a series about my favorite new barista. π
This is so much fun! I seriously have been hurting my cheeks with all this smiling.
So, it’s pretty much been a big party here for a couple of days…Yay! As soon as I know more particulars, I’ll let you know right away!
Here’s a little sneak peek on the synopsis – Maya is a 24 year-old barista living with her best friend of the last few years, Jen, and her beagle, Calvin. All is going well and fine until Jen meets a guy at work and it ends up being none other than Maya’s former boyfriend of four years before she met Jen – the guy she thought she’d marry. What are you supposed to do with that? Especially when he doesn’t recognize Maya, Jen doesn’t know about him and Calvin…well, Calvin’s not too helpful.
I’m so excited! :D.
Here’s a little trivia I’m learning recently: I think God wants me to start working on conquering some of my irrational fears. Why you ask? Because at the tea shop, we have a ladder to reach the tea cans on the top shelf.
I hate ladders.
Which, invariably means I am always the one waiting on the customer who’s like, “Oh, I think I’ll get that tea over in the far corner so you’re not only standing one-footed on the ladder, you’re stretching across a white hot water heater too.”
All that to say, my prayer life has increased since I got this job.
I think it will increase more. I have a lot of words to write before my deadline. And all those words have to make sense together, which means I can’t just throw fun words in just for the heck of it (but just watch! I’ll use “emulate” in a sentence somewhere! Isn’t that a great word?!).
Anyway, enough rambling! I hope all of you are having a FANTASTIC day!
Love,
A very excited Erynn π

Congrats on the new contract! I can’t even begin to fathom how exciting that must be. Well, I can begin, but…. well, you get the point. The blurb you gave on Maya’s story sounds fantastic. I know that when it finally comes out, I’ll be one of the first in line to get my copy! I didn’t realize you were doing a series again, but I’m STOKED that you are! One book is just never enough.
I’m really happy for you, Erynn! I’ll be keeping you in my prayers as you continue to bless others through your coffee-infused imagination!
Btw, I think God is a coffee-lover as well. Haven’t you ever heard of HeBrews? Get it? He Brews? Okay, I’ve reached my corny criteria for the day…
Happy writing!

Hey Erynn!! I love your books so much! I’ve tried to e-mail you, but it has not been working. So I’ll just type to you on here. I started reading your books at 11 years old. I know that probably wasn’t the age group you intended the books for, but I LOVED them anyway. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, and like you, writing is my passion. If I can, I will send you part of the story I’m writing. I’d love to get one of my favorite authors’ opinions on it. When I saw your book in the little Christian book store near me for the first time, I was looking for a good book to read while I waited for the next book in the Warriors series to come out (My favorite books!!). I was just browsing, until I laid eyes on MissMatch. I immediately picked it up, briefly read through the back, and bought it. Something TOLD me to buy it! As soon as I started reading it back at home, I was hooked. I had it done in about three days, and wanted more. When I checked out your site, I discovered ReMatch wouldn’t be out for a LONG time!! It crushed me for a while, but I started reading some great classics. Then as soon as ReMatch came down, I swallowed it without chewing, but then went back and read some things over again. Now that I’ve recently finished MatchPoint, even though I’m sad it’s all over, I am very pleased with the ending, and couldn’t ask for more (well…Unless Laurie was to have kids that is. he he). Also I thought I might add, we are a lot alike, from the amazing love of chocolate, to the same slippers. Well anyway, thank you. Thank you so much! I absolutely adore your writing and your personality. Please keep writing and post any new books on your site. Oh, and congrats on your new husband! =) God bless you both!

Can’t wait to read the next book. It sounds really good! Just wish it wasn’t going to take so long for it to come out ;). Love your books. I read Miss Match several months ago, and then brought all 3 home Monday night and stayed up until 2 reading them … couldn’t stop. Anyway, looking forward to reading more!
